Following the inauguration of Prof. Jong-Wha Lee as new director in September 2013, ARI established the Center for Asian Cooperation to reinforce its research on Asian economic cooperation including inter-Korean economic integration. The center has organized the ARI Asian Cooperation Seminar on a regular basis by inviting renowned scholars at home and abroad, an event which attracted active participation of many professors from Korea University and various other universities. The center aims to promote comprehensive and in-depth research on Asian cooperation through an inter-disciplinary approach comprising humanities and social science in order to address political, economic, social, and cultural cooperation in the Asian region and the unification issues of the Korean peninsula. The center has conducted joint research projects and built domestic and international research networks.
