Korea-Japan Joint Research Series (21 volumes)
Since the first volume of the joint research series Current Situations of East Asian Economic Cooperation and its Future Possibilities was published in March 2000, the ARI has continued its publications for ten years and has recently published the last volume of the series East Asian Regional Order and Community Building.
This series is the products of the Korea-Japan Joint Research Forum. The forum began in the summer of 1995, fifty years after the Second World War, recognizing the need to “face the past and prepare for the future.” Since 1996, the joint researches of two countries contributed to building the academic community of two countries and consequently ameliorating the bilateral relations. More importantly, the forum was an unprecedented joint research with seven teams of more than 200 senior researchers in Korea and Japan and with nine years of history. The results of the forum have been published in Korean and Japanese respectively by the ARI Press and the Keio University Press.
The forum was organized by the ARI representing Korean researchers and was sponsored by Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Fund. The former ARI directors Sang Yong Choi and Jang Jip Choi and the current director Nae-Young Lee had endeavored for the success of the forum and for the completion of the Korea-Japan Joint Research Series. With the publication of the last volume East Asian Regional Order and Community Building, this project has come to an end.
