Yoshimura Yasuo of Japanese Embassy in Korea visits ARI

Yoshimura Yasuo, the counselor of Japanese Embassy in Korea, visited Asiatic Research Institute on May 20th, 2011. Mr. Yoshimura and Director Nae Young Lee of Asiatic Research Insitute exchanged their views over the following topics: 1) the possibility of building the East Asian Community; 2) the rise of China and the search for cooperation between Korea and Japan; and 3) peace in the Korean peninsula and the North Korean "variable". Director Lee also introduced to Mr. Yoshimura ARI's accomplishments in its Korea-Japan Joint Research Project (1996-2006) and also the current HK Northeast Asian Regional Studies Project. Director Lee further asked for continued support and cooperation from the Japanese Embassy with respect to ARI's research in Korea-Japan relations and other Japan-related subjects.
