Ⅰ. Introduction
As a representative comprehensive research
We would like to ask for the active participation of scholars of humanities and social sciences.
Ⅱ. Areas and Potential Applicants
● Areas: humanities and social sciences related to the Northeast Asian region
● Types of applications
1. free topic (individual research, joint research)
2. a doctoral dissertation
● Qualification for application
1. free topic: Ph.D. holders who have published at least five papers over the last five years
2. a doctoral dissertation: Ph.D. holders who have received the Ph.D. within the last five years
● Further information
1. A manuscript more than 30% of which has been published will not be accepted.
2. A manuscript written in English is invited.
3. There is a separate application procedure for those who provide basic data needed to build a database for Northeast Asian studies.
Ⅲ. Support & Schedule
● Support
1. Eight million to fifteen million won per project (Ten to twelve thousand dollars for a manuscript in English)
2. The work will be published as a volume in the ARI Monograph Series by ARI Press.
※ The Monograph Series Screening Committee will select manuscripts to be published.
● Submission
1. A length of approximately 1,200 pages on squared manuscript paper
2. Two years from date of contract
● Schedule
31st Aug. 2011: deadline for application
late Sept. 2011: first screening
early Oct. 2011: second screening
mid-Oct. 2011: conclusion of a contract
early Nov. 2011: research grant payment (50% of the total grant)
early Oct. 2012: interim report
early Oct. 2013: submission of manuscripts to be published
Ⅳ. Application
● Application Period: From 25th July to 31st August
● Documents to be submitted: Send the following by mail (1~6) and by email (1~5).

3. Writing plan (It should be a length of approximately 50 pages on squared manuscript paper. A bibliography does not count toward page requirement.)
4. List of papers published
5. Summary of representative papers
6. Two representative papers
※ Numbers 5 and 6 are not applicable for those submitting a doctoral dissertation.
