Job Opening for HK Research Professor, ARI, Korea University

1. Outline: The Asiatic Research Institute, regarded as the first university-affiliated research institute, has pioneered research in the field of Asian studies especially after it was chosen as a “Humanities Korea” research institute by the Korea Research Foundation in 2008. To reinforce its research staff, ARI plans to recruit one HK research professor interested in the research theme of “Transnational Space of Northeast Asia.”

3. Benefits  

Annual salary: 35 million to 36 million won

Incentive: payment of 2 million to 3 million won to HK research professors with research excellence

4. Requirements  

Must hold a Doctorate in the corresponding field

Must qualify for the employment regulations of private universities and Korea University  

Must qualify for the employment standards set by the Korea Research Foundation regarding the HK research personnel

Research experiences in the field or fluent in the language of research areas preferred

5. Screening Schedule

The 1^st screening (document screening) – the 2nd screening (Interview regarding area of expertise) - announcement of successful applicant

The screening process includes a compatibility scrutiny between the areas of expertise and the ARI’s research agenda

The 2^nd screening process will be individually notified to successful applicants only

Official copies of transcript (BA, MA, PhD)

Three representative works (published within the last 5 years, most related to the ARI’s research agenda)
