ARI held an international symposium with a subject "Acceptance and acculturation of 'republic(共和)' in East Asia : Idea and system" on 7th October 2011, in the conference room to celebrate the centenary of Chinese Revolution.
The symposium was divided 3 sessions. At the first session, there were presentations and public speakings as for "Repulic of the West and East", "Tradition of republicanism in Western", and "Republic of traditional thoughts in China".
Secondly, there were discussions and announcements on "Acceptance and acculturation of 'republic(共和)' in East Asia : Idea and system".
At the last round, there were debates and statements with "Research on changes of republicanism under the Kuomintang", "Origin, apperance and development of Korea's republicanism" and so on.
