Xi Jinping period and the outlook of foreign policies
in China
The Xi Jinping period began the end of 2012, and is termed
the fifth generation. As China is approaching the G2 thanks to rapid economic
growth, concerns have arisen as to the characteristics of the next governments and
what kind of foreign policies it will follow. To deal with these questions, the
Humanities Korea group within the Asiatic Research Institute of Korea
University held the academic conference 'Xi Jinping period and the outlook of
foreign policies in China' in collaboration with the Northeast Asian History
Foundation on 28th November.
Five
papers were presented at the conference. They analysed the characteristics and
tendencies of the leadership of Xi Jinping, providing an in-depth understanding
of the leadership of the fifth generation, as well as details of the debate
surrounding the leadership’s external policy.
The
experts also discussed the events surrounding the arrival of the Xi Jinping
period and its diplomatic policies.
