2014.04.14 1038
Professor Barry Buzan of the London School of Economics (LSE) gave a lecture on “Northeast Asia in Regional Security Complex Theory Perspective” at the Asiatic Research Institute (ARI), Korea University, on April 8 (Tuesday), 2014. With about 60 professors and students attending, Prof. Buzan discussed the transformation of Northeast Asia since the publication of his book, Regions and Powers, in 2003. Prof. Buzan argued that Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia all feature strong regional and global level security dynamics. He added that Asian great powers, such as China, India and Japan, began to play on all Asia scale. Before his lecture, Prof. Buzan made a courtesy call on ARI Director Jong-Wha Lee.
