CHUNG Jae Ho (cjhir@snu.ac.kr) is a professor of international relations at Seoul National University, A graduate of Seoul National University, Brown University and the University of Michigan, and a recipient of the 2009 SNU Best Researcher Award, Professor Chung is the author or editor of eleven books, including Central Control and Local Discretion in China (Oxford University Press, 2000), Charting China’s Future (Rowman & Littlefield, 2006), Between Ally and Partner: Korea-China Relations and the United States (Columbia University Press, 2007), and China’s Crisis Management (Routledge, 2011). He serves on the editorial committees of The China Quarterly, Pacific Affairs, East Asia, Politics, Asian Perspective and China Perspectives, and is the founding coordinator of the Asian Network for the Study of Local China (ANSLoC: http://www.ansloc.net) and project manager of the MacArthur Foundation’s Asia Security Initiative grant on “Managing Sino-Korean Conflicts and Identifying the Role of the United States” for 2009-12 (http://masi.snu.ac.kr ).
