ARI Fellowship Program for Northeast Asian Studies

The ARI Fellowship Program for Northeast Asian Studies is designed to provide scholars and doctoral candidates from foreign countries with an opportunity to carry out research on topics related to Northeast Asia at the Asiatic Research Institute, Korea University. Individuals in the fields of the humanities and social sciences who are currently engaged in research and teaching activities related to Northeast Asia are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to foreign nationals working on peace and integration on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, particularly to early career researchers who have received their Ph.D. degree within the last five years or doctoral candidates who have completed all academic requirements except their dissertation. The fellowship period is for up to six months. The application deadline is August 27, 2017, and all applicants will be notified about our decision by the end of August.

# Fellowship Grant
1. Economy-class round-trip airfare (only provided to those who are based overseas prior to the fellowship period)
※ Reimbursement of airfare will be provided after arrival
2. Accommodation support

3. Access to ARI facilities, including Korea University libraries, and a communal office to be shared with other visiting fellows

Applicants can submit all required materials via email attachment or send original documents by post. Documents must be postmarked no later than the deadline.

# Obligations
While at the ARI, fellows will be encouraged to present their work-in-progress and conduct joint research with ARI members. If possible, they are requested to contribute to the peer-reviewed ARI journal, East Asian Community Review.
